Course Structure

Introduction to Drawing & Materials

  • Getting to know graphite pencils and charcoal (types, handling, sharpening)

  • Warm-up exercises: lines, marks, pressure control

  • Drawing basic geometric forms (sphere, cube, cylinder) with light and shadow

  • Understanding light source and form through shading practice

Still Life with Simple Objects

  • Observational drawing: drawing from real-life objects (mugs, fruit, bottles)

  • Techniques: contour drawing, measuring proportions

  • Shading with hatching, cross-hatching, and blending

  • Intro to composition: placement and balance

🧠 Focus: Proportion, observation, shading to show form

Textures & Surfaces

  • Drawing different textures: glass, fabric, metal, wood

  • Using both pencil and charcoal to emphasize surface differences

  • Practice with smudging, erasing, and layering techniques

  • Creating a small composition of mixed-texture objects

🧠 Focus: Material study, contrast, tactile visual effects

Drawing from Nature

  • Drawing organic forms: leaves, branches, shells, stones

  • Exploring charcoal for expressive marks

  • Negative space and silhouette drawing

  • Creating depth and atmosphere with tone

🧠 Focus: Organic structure, expressive line, tonal layering

Portrait Basics (From a Photo or Bust)

  • Basic proportions of the face

  • Structure: how to simplify facial features (eyes, nose, mouth)

  • Using charcoal for expressive portraits: highlights and deep shadows

  • Final sketch: build a simple portrait using learned techniques

The course teacher - Rebeca

Rebeca is a visual artist with a degree in Fine Arts, currently based in Luxembourg. Her work moves between painting, illustration, and tattooing, with a strong focus on line, texture, and contrast. Deeply inspired by the natural world, she often draws from botanical forms and animals to create detailed, expressive imagery.

Specializes in traditional techniques such as ink drawing and linocut printmaking. Combines graphic precision with organic and emotional elements. Experienced in collaborative projects and passionate about art education

Cancellation Policy

Please note in case of missed class the fee cannot be reimbursed. In case you need to cancel your participation in the course please note that we accept 10 days’ notice in order to reimburse 100% of the amount and we can reimburse only 50% after this date and 0% from the start of the course. Missed workshops cannot be recovered.
